Untitled Project
Project in Progress

The photographs are largely inspired by genre paintings, art that intended to celebrate the everyday lives of ordinary people. This project is both a celebration of the quiet joy found in living as our authentic selves, and a reminder of the scrutiny and projected expectations we face every day.

By making Camera Obscuras, idyllic shells of the surrounding community are projected into the homes of individuals and families who fall under the umbrella of LGBTQ+. Each image reflects the narrative that society has a view of what a family should be, and in some cases that narrative is projected onto others. We stand in the face of that while simultaneously existing in the scope of this society and simply want to be tolerated; left alone to exist with the same rights and privileges as our straight friends and neighbors.
